We have a very long drive today. We are headed well into the mountains to the Sary‑Chelek Biosphere, a wildlife reserve. The drive was quite long but it went through some beautiful areas.
There were rivers,
lakes,
many mountains,
a few small towns,
reservoirs,
and at the
end of the road, a beautiful lake.

We are staying at a homestay. The area has become very popular over the years with hikers and backpackers and other nature lovers. So some of the locals are now taking advantage by opening small homestays in their homes. Our home stay had a a largish building with a very long table where they served meals. There was a separate building with seven small rooms with separate bathrooms. The shower in ours was “interesting”.
A small river flows behind the rooms building but we didn’t really hear it at night. All in all it was a peaceful location and quite adequate if very basic.
